It's probably just me, but I found the wording of this question rather confusing – taking the words "narrow promontory" and "southernmost point of Dorset" to refer to the Isle of Portland as a whole, rather than Portland Bill, which forms its southernmost point. Fortunately for me, the question master was generous and gave us the point.
